This article discusses scenarios formative assessment in higher education, initially, from the theoretical reflection of evaluation as a fundamental process in the education system, recognizing its impact on teaching and learning; properly setting the pedagogical practices of teachers to enrich the learning of students; and assessing the role played by the teacher and student, who today are recognized as key players in education and are the ones to make evaluation a process that strengthens the roads that pass in the acquisition and generation of knowledge.
