In this paper a theoretical review of the components of the assessment of learning is done, from the evolution of its meaning, and the definitions that consider that the concepts of assessment can not be outside of the integral formation of learners. It is of paramount importance in the academic field, that theoretical foundation of learning assessment be taken into account by all educational stakeholders in order to direct the evaluative practices towards an integrality, considering evaluation as a necessary act in Education and of high social impact for the learner, establishing as well as a substantial process that leads to the development of all aspects of the individual.
