PERSPECTIVE FROM GRADUATES ABOUT THE RELEVANCE OF ACADEMIC DEGREE PROGRAMS OF CALDAS UNIVERSITY

Objective: to identify the estimation of quality and development of general competences in training, from the graduates of thirteen undergraduate programs and postgraduate of Caldas University perspective. Methodology: descriptive and non-experimental type investigation. The under examination population was established by 1419 graduates from some undergraduate and postgraduate programs of Caldas University during 2010-2014, who completed a survey sent to their electronic mail. Findings: 50% of surveyed graduates obtained a job related to their degree before the first year of graduation or they were already working in the area related to, when they graduate. Conclusions: most of the graduate professionals considered the degree as a full of competences issue suitable for the professional performance; it is mentioned the importance of continue strengthening the training in communicative proficiency of second language and the use of basic technology resources.
