Objective: to propose an academic preparation for the community composed by different human components who require of a “counselor-trainer” –someone well prepared and qualified in pedagogical, theoretical and practical components. Methodology: this study follows the qualitative design and ethnographic research methods that emerge from the city’s public and private interinstitutional concern. The theoretical and practical analysis document the role of sport coaches and their achievement throughout the project called Peace Sport Schools, which is centered in educational processes that take place within a vulnerable community, improving life quality, favoring a healthy, social practice focused on values and promoting a civic education. This fact has been perceived in children and teenagers as fundamental participants of this program. Findings: there is evidence of the credit given to the program through the testimonies provided by coaches and sponsors. Similarly, to the social impact, which benefits the person as citizen, to the society and to the resignification of life projects; all these presented within three categories: the context; the boy, the girl; and the sport trainer. Conclusions: due to the absence of government support to the sport spaces, which is clearly seen in the poor and neglected facilities, the project Peace Sport Schools has alleviated in certain manner the vulnerability corresponding to the negative surroundings where it takes place. In addition to this, the community shows a high level of interest for the sports practice performed hence they have become on activities of healthy interaction and leverage of the population’s spare time.
