The present review article is a tour that identifies the key moments in the development of the different conceptions of education and its influence in epochs and historical and social contexts which responded to certain needs of academic training. To achieve this, a methodology of documentary review was applied, including primary and secondary sources, web pages, magazines with national circulation, educational legislation and regulation, and other academic texts, which allowed us to understand the developments the types of education have had and that move away from formal education.
