This article presents a brief review about the current situation of the educational and readaptive processes in the juvenile detention centers in Mexico. At the same time, it analyzes some strategic mechanisms and routes developed in other countries to ensure quality and appropriateness of this process. It takes into account the main theoretical discussions and recommendations issued by international organizations.
