This reflection article presents an epistemological discussion regarding the concepts of inclusion and exclusion to use them as a starting point to comprehend the way they are configured in school settings. These reflections are based on two theses; the first one refers to institutions being excluding in their conceptions and practices due to the lack of contextualization and the desire to meet quality indexes. The second refers to how school can become an environment in which inclusion can be a possibility to recognize diversity from social agreements.
